Ricky Martin, the hip-swiveling Latin heartthrob who has sold over 50 million records worldwide, returns to the scene with the upcoming release of “17,” his second disc of Spanish-language greatest hits.
Martin’s new album – due out on Nov. 18 – is a special CD and DVD collection showcasing 17 of his hits from 1991-2007, and 17 videos representing 17 years of his career highlights. With it, Sony BMG marks Martin’s 17-year career as a solo artist.
The CD collection includes “Fuego contra fuego,” “El amor de mi vida,” “Bella,” “Te Extraρo,Te Olvido, Te Amo,” “Maria” (Remix Spanglish), “Vuelve,” “La copa de la vida” (Remix Spanglish), “La bomba” (Remix) and “Livin’ la vida loca” (Remix Spanglish), among others.
The DVD features “Que dνa es hoy (Self Control)” and two never-before-seen short films created for the releases of “Almas del silencio” and “Life.” It also boasts “Te extraρo,te olvido, te amo,” “Maria,” “Vuelve,” “La bomba,” “Livin’ la vida loca,” “She Bangs,” “Loaded” and “Tal vez,” to name a few.
Most recently, the Puerto Rican pop superstar – who calls Miami home - became the father of two twin boys born via an unknown surrogate mom. So far, and in reference to fatherhood, Martin has been quoted in several major publications as saying that “I’m enjoying one of the most beautiful moments in my life.”
